02/19/02 I was always taking care of
people. After graduation I did live-in care of disabled and elderly
until 1976 when I moved to San Diego with Michael Condon who had broken
his neck in a diving accident. Michael was an alumni of Muir also and we
knew a lot of the same people growing up. We moved in 1976 and I stayed
in San Diego even after I no longer took care of him . I married in 1980
, was not able to have children as much as I had wanted them. Divorced
in 1986 worked many jobs, had Many adventures (some good, lots bad) met
new friends -lost touch with too many more .Got disgusted with the
crime, drugs, growth, pollution, prices etc... Left in the middle of the
night on what was to be my greatest adventure! I ended up at Cougar
Reservoir east of Eugene, Oregon . My car was totaled (by another
person) I was homeless- knew no one there at all. It was the homeless
people there on the mountain that helped me survive. Viet Nam vets,
hippies and other wonderful folks that most of us always looked down
upon were the only people that were there for me. I found a place to
live a week later with a couple that had an infant that was born
premature that the mother had no idea what to do with. I was the oldest
of 7 and had much experience with newborns so I took over the baby's
care. That family moved on and I stayed . 10 years later I am still in
Eugene Oregon. I love it here. The people are so wonderful (it rains a
lot) the mountains are so close (only an hours drive to the Hot Springs)
( yes I go naked -Scary thought with all my scars) only two hours to the
coast. Couldn't be better. Now I am retired, living in a 30 foot motor
home with 3 cats a wonderful S.O. named Dan and thinking about moving to
Austin, Texas next summer. That trip should really be an adventure!!!!!
Anyone that remembers me as a shy fat girl would never know me now I'm
still fat but I'm no longer shy!!!!!

12/15/01 Hello to everyone from the class of 1970. Time sure has flown by. I often reflect on the culture of the 70's and how we truly felt that we were living in and experiencing a special time in America. Of course, now we know that each day can be very special and life-changing. Well, for the past 31 years I've been experiencing the challenges of life that includes: studies at our local colleges and universities, sharing my life with a marital partner, parenting, and vocational interests. Currently, I teach technology courses for the Pomona Unified School District, and Coach high school tennis. I hope to hear from members of my graduating class, and I wish all God's speed. |

Posted 12/17/01 After 20 years away in northern California (Humboldt County) hiding from civilization, I've returned to SoCal. Living in Ventura, I have two young daughters, a wife, and work as a fisheries scientist (private consulting). I have many fond memories of my days at Muir. Drop me a line if you remember me. |

Posted 02/05/02 Life since graduation has given me one great marriage out of three, two adult children and a granddaughter. I still live in Altadena and work as a secretary at JPL. My husband and I visit Las Vegas frequently and enjoy traveling in the U.S. and abroad (specifically, Rio de Janeiro, Costa Rica, Italy, Australia, and hope to see Hong Kong later this year). |
